The Maryland Court of Appeals hands down a landmark decision in Maryland State Bar Association v. Agnew, 271 Md. 543, 318 A.2d. 811 (1974), the only disbarment of a former Vice President of the United States. The decision was a result of Agnew’s no contest plea to income tax evasion while serving as Governor of Maryland.
