If you tractor has draft control there is another lever on the right side under your seat. Lever pointing forward is in draft control and rotated back pointing up is no draft control. The lever you're referring to is probably the draft/position control lever. I'd suggest getting the original style owners manual as a beginner, then the service manual. These things are well explained in the manuals. 8-speed models were live power. Rick, it sounds like your hydraulics are working normal, when in the draft position the hydraulics operate differantly, they are controled by the movement of the draft spring that is attatched from the hydraulic rocker to below your seat. One common old farmer fix to the lift when it got out of adjustment and wouldn't raise the implement high enough was to open the right side inspeciton plate and bend the control rod that reaches from the top linkage to the bottom where the control valve is so to push the control valve in further. ...
